I have a 1080p 52″ and its always on 1080p on my ps3 and blue rays but with comcast HD its on 1080i. Why??

i have a samsung LED 1080p TV and i can tell the diferece from my old 720p tv the 720p is blurrie and not bright and the 1080p is supper clear and i love the samsung blu ray theatre system its 1080p and kicks ass

let me get this stright so 1080i has the same picture as 1080p except 1080p has better framrate?

I have Comcast HD and change the settings on the cable box to 720p, now all my HD chanels are 720p. Most are broadcasted in 1080i but some are 720p.
720p looks much better then 1080i, but my Blu-ray is 1080p and looks great!

Interlacing blows.
