What is the best tv on the market for $1000 or less?
My mother wants to get me a new TV for my bedroom as a housewarming gift (and because I hardwired my old flat screen to her house and neither of us feel like taking it down…lol). Anyway, I have a max of 00 to spend. What should I get? I love the picture quality of the Samsung LED TVs but they are way out of my price range. I just don’t want something that looks like a bad computer monitor, only bigger. Oh, and I want to connect a Blu-Ray player, so please keep your selections to 1080p options. As far as size, bigger is better, but I don’t want size at the cost of important features. Thanks so much.
I want to stay away from plasma due to the energy consumption and heat they give off. Please keep responses to LCD or LED options.
I am leaning towards this TV:
Samsung 46" Class 120 Hz/1080p LCD HDTV, LN46C630
Anyone have experience with it?

i recently bought a plasma and my brother bought an HDTV…mine is so much better. You can tell the difference on the image quality right away even tho they’re both 1080p, So i would say a plasma.
Look at a Panasonic Plasma tv, you can get a 42" 1080P for less than $1,000 and add a Panasonic BD-60 blu ray disc player for around $150. The 50" 1080P is a bit more around $1,100. Check out Costco for pricing and you also get a 90 day return policy and one extra year of factory warranty at no cost. Go online to Home Theater Magazine and read the reviews on tvs along with the pro and con of Plasma and LCD tvs. You will notice that Panasonic has a tv recommended in each price category of entry level to the high end. While Samsung, Sony and Toshiba does not (April issue). Other brands like LG, Sharp, Sanyo and Vizio did not even get mentioned. If you read yahoo questions, you will notice that 95% of tv problems are from LCD tvs and 95% are from off brand. Hope this will help you out.
I recommend Samsung LN46C630 46-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV (Black).
