What is the difference between 1080p and 720p on a Tv set?
I have been noticing a lot of the HDTV saying they are 1080p and some are 720p how does that affect the quality of the tv?
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

It’s about what is the resolution between those two. With TVs there are 1920×1080 pixels (1080p) and 1280x720pixels (720p). To compare that with the ordinary TV 720x480pixels. Some say that it is difficult to notice difference between 720p and 1080 when both looks really good. one thing is that if you have source for 1080 resolution then you can only take advantage from it but if not then the difference isn’t much. I hope I were any help.
the numbers are the number of scan lines (generally the same as the number of pixels in height)…
the higher the number, the higher the resolution and more accurate or sharper the picture…
both 720p and 1080p give a widescreen picture 16:9 but only 1080p is true HDTV… it has 2.07 million pixels compared with 921,600 for 720p

It’s all about the source. R u watching blu ray? get a 720p unless your tv is bigger than 50"
HD cable is 720p or 1080i NOT 1080p so you can’t really use it.
Save your money and get a 720p
