TV HD 1080p

I have a new high end HD tv – runs 1080p as well as 1080i … i know 1080p is the better picture, but i remember a review for Devil May Cry 4 that said the 1080p ran slower than the 1080i on the 360 … is this true for all 1080p games for the XBOX 360??? am i sacrificing frame rate for quality?
